iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max Expected to Launch Next Month With Major Upgrades
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max next month with major upgrades, including a new aluminium frame, triple 48MP cameras, a 5,000mAh battery, 12GB RAM, 8K video recording, and faster charging support.
Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are tipped to feature bigger batteries, triple 48MP cameras, and a redesigned aluminium frame.

Apple is gearing up to unveil its iPhone 17 lineup at its annual September launch event, with the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max tipped to bring some of the biggest upgrades in years. While official invites haven’t gone out yet, leaks and reports have revealed several key changes expected in Apple’s most powerful smartphones.
Design Upgrades
This year, Apple is expected to switch from titanium to an aluminium frame for the Pro models, paired with a half-aluminium, half-glass back that retains wireless charging support. A redesigned rectangular camera bump could replace the current square island, housing a triple-camera system.
The lineup may also debut in a new vibrant orange colour, alongside black, white, grey, and dark blue options.
Display Changes
The Pro models will likely retain their 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch displays, with rumours pointing to a new anti-reflective coating similar to Samsung’s flagship devices. The Dynamic Island could shrink slightly, while ProMotion 120Hz might be available across all iPhone 17 variants, not just the Pro models.
Performance Boost
Powered by the new A19 Pro chip built on TSMC’s 3nm process, the iPhone 17 Pro series is expected to jump to 12GB RAM (up from 8GB in the iPhone 16 series). A vapour chamber cooling system could improve heat management for intensive tasks and Apple Intelligence features.
Battery & Charging
The iPhone 17 Pro Max could feature a 5,000mAh battery, the largest ever in an iPhone, with support for 45W wired fast charging, 25W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.
Camera Enhancements
- Front Camera: Upgraded to 24MP for sharper selfies and improved cropping.
- Telephoto Lens: Boosted to 48MP, matching the resolution of the wide and ultra-wide sensors.
- Video Recording: Support for 8K resolution and dual-video mode, allowing simultaneous recording from front and rear cameras.
With these upgrades — from bigger batteries and faster charging to triple 48MP cameras and more RAM — the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are shaping up to be Apple’s most advanced iPhones yet.
